soooo its been a while since i wrote a blog post.. honestly school got really hectic and ive just been
doing
what i can to survive. i didnt get the best grades but im pretty sure i passed most of my classes so i
count
that as a win. christmas was sooo amazing for me. i loooove christmas and i had started getting kinda
depressed around early november and decorated early. the house felt so magical for like two whole months.
my
daughter spent christmas with us this year (we switch off holidays every other year with her mom, so her
mom
got her birthday this year and we got christmas, next year it will reverse). she said her favorite giftr
she
got was a little furby we picked up last minute when i panicked and realized we didnt have anything she
had
directly circled in the catalogue she sent to santa. she was so happy that santa listened to what she
wanted
so i
felt good about it. she also got a skincare set with moisturizer and things like that, and we got her some
dolls like a monster high doll (draculara) and some barbies. i think my favorite thing we got her was this
fisher price record table with records that you can actually play (not real records but i think it like
detects the song with some sort of chip or something which is nice because she does not handle that thing
very carefully)
as for my own gifts, my husband found a stationary store that sells foreign stationary and got me a midori
notebook with a cover and a leuchtturm pencil that rotates the lead. i was super happy when i got that
gift
like he didnt just get me ordinary stationary he payed attention to the brands i like and my stationary
preferences and i felt really seen. my mom got me a sewing machine that i asked for (!) and she gave us a
200$ visa gift card
which she said she figured would help with like groceries or something, which also made me feel seen
because
she knows how much weve been struggling lately. we're actually gonna save it for our honeymoon for
spending
money though! (more on that later)
as for gifts for other people that i gave, i handsewed a headphones keychain holder for my husbands beats
earbuds because his old one was like 5 years old and also bulky and ugly. he really likes it a lot, he
said
it feels secure and its way more comfy in his pocket than the old one and he likes how cute it is. i also
made him a car decoration thats like a lace toploader i decorated with just one layer of lace trim and a
bunch of rhinestones, beads, jewelry charms, and things like that and i put polaroids of our daughter in
it
which he really loved a lot. he was showing it off to our daughter with like a proud tone which is how i
know he loved it a lot. i did a lot of handmade gifts this year because i wanted to put more heart into it
rather than getting junk that people will forget where they even got it from. for my friends (lavi and
promise dont read this if ur reading this before we do our gift exchange) i made pretty prize ribbons with
a
little title in the middle ("yaoi master" and "chronic orbit" respectively) and i made a bag charm for one
of them. for the other one i made a construction paper portrait for their apartment of the two of us. and
lastly i made them both little hair accessories. i cant wait to see their reactions! my sister got a
cookbook from the year she was born and a gilmore girls tree ornament (kind of an inside thing but she
loved
them both a lot). and yeah that was the highlights of the stuff i gave people. i love gifting so much its
really my favorite way to show my love.
anyway, i mentioned we planned our honeymoon! we dont really have it like that to go out of the country so
were going to new orleans next month because ive wanted to go there for like 10 years at this point. we're
going to a really fancy hotel and were going on a historic tour of the french quarter and to the mardi
gras
world museum place and all the places im sooo excited im going to take so many pictures and learn so much.
i
cant wait to share the pics i take!
